Easier access to your favorite online journals and publications
OpenAthens is an access management platform that enables and simplifies access of library users to UA&P's subscribed online content. With OpenAthens, you will only need your UA&P login credentials (i.e., your uap.asia username and password) to access the online resources even when you are not on-campus. You only need to authenticate once to start an 8-hour long OpenAthens session, which means you will not be asked to log in again within that eight-hour timeframe regardless of the number of online platforms you visit. A single sign-in with your uap.asia account is all that is needed to access the University library's online subscriptions.
How to use OpenAthens
If an online resource is accessible using OpenAthens, you will see a blue icon right beside it similar to the image below.
Keep in mind that there is no need for you to configure your computer's network proxy settings for off-campus access if the resource is accessible via OpenAthens. If the blue icon does not appear, then you will have to configure your network proxy settings to access the resource off-campus by following the instructions on our online guide.
A work in progress
For now, not all of the subscribed journals are accessible via OpenAthens. This means that you will have to use a proxy account to access them off-site.
For Financial Times, The Economist, and Harvard Business Review, there is no need to set up your proxy settings. To access these websites, you may request for login credentials from the Library Info Desk (lib.infodesk@uap.asia).
For more questions or concerns, you may reach out to us by sending an email to atlib.infodesk@uap.asia or you can send a message using the chat service on the library website.
